Studio Closing and What's Next

After much thought, we have made the difficult decision to close our studio at 839 8th Ave W in Palmetto at the end of November, as our lease comes to an end. For 2 years this space has been a home for birthday parties, date nights, school groups, Toddler Story Time, and countless first-time artists. We are so grateful to everyone who has painted, built, laughed, and created with us here.

What's next for Canvas & Clay

We are continuing to bring creativity to the community in two ways:

  • Ananda Farm studio booth: a smaller, booth-style Canvas & Clay in the Jumping Pillows Pavilion at 529 Ken Hubbard Rd, Terra Ceia, FL. Paint pottery and canvases while you enjoy the farm. For tickets, hours, and directions, visit anandafarm.com.

  • Mobile events: we still bring the art to you! Our mobile service is available for groups of 20 or more, including summer camps, schools, corporate teams, and community organizations. Contact us to book.

Gift cards: All Canvas & Clay gift cards can be used for mobile parties and for purchases at our booth at Ananda Farm.

Important dates at the Palmetto studio

  • Monday, November 2: Clay Hand Building Day (noon-6pm)

  • Thursday, November 19: Last Toddler Story Time session (1pm)

  • Sunday, November 22: Glazing Day (10am-6pm)

  • Friday, November 27: Last day to pick up finished pieces

  • Have a piece with us?

    If you have a piece in progress, please come in and finish it before the studio closes. If your piece is finished, please pick it up by Friday, November 27. We are contacting customers directly, but you are welcome to call us at 941-212-6943 to check on your pieces.

Canvas & Clay was born from a simple idea, to create a space where people of all ages can slow down, get creative, and enjoy the process of making something with their hands. Founded by Stephany, Canvas & Clay Art Studio is a family-friendly place to explore pottery painting, canvas art, and creative projects in a relaxed and inspiring environment.

Stephany is the heart behind the studio, overseeing day-to-day operations and bringing her vision to life through every class, party, and creative experience. Her passion for art, community, and connection shapes the welcoming spirit of Canvas & Clay, all fueled by creativity and the occasional iced green tea.

What Our Guests Are Saying

This is a great place to go for awesome pottery, they have several amazing events throughout the week offering kids activities also. So very fun to paint your own ceramics and have them fires for you. Fun for everyone, they have seasonal items. Bring your kids to do some art, bring you significant other for a date night, or just come by yourself and have fun and listen to music while expressing your creativity.

The sweetest owners ever! The prices were great and we had such a good time painting. Any time we needed help they were so nice! They even gave us some popcorn and since we don’t live in the area, they offer shipping! Great bachelorette activity!!!
